A sample cover letter for a project manager job, what makes it work, and how to write your own from your real experience.

Dear Hiring Manager,
I'm applying for the Project Manager position at Relecloud. I've managed IT and process projects at Northwind Logistics for five years, most recently the move of our warehouse scheduling to a new system across three sites.
Your posting asks for stakeholder management and clear status reporting. On the scheduling project I ran a weekly meeting with site managers, IT and the vendor, kept the plan, risks and dependencies in Jira, and sent a one-page status every Friday. When the vendor slipped a delivery, I raised it early, agreed a new date with the sponsor and moved the training plan to match.
I hold a PMP certification and I'm comfortable with both agile and waterfall teams, as your posting mentions.
Thank you for considering my application. I would be glad to walk you through a project plan from my recent work.
Kind regards, Morgan Sample, PMP
