Welcome to CareerGenius.org, operated by Career Genius LLC ("we," "our," or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website and use our services, including our AI-powered resume builder and cover letter generator.
Important: Our services use artificial intelligence to assist in resume and cover letter generation. While we strive for accuracy, users should review and edit all generated content before use. We recommend treating AI-generated content as a starting point for your professional documents.
How We Use Gmail API:
We use the Gmail send scope solely to allow users to send documents they generate (resumes, cover letters) via their own Gmail account. Emails are sent only when the user explicitly clicks "Send". We do not read, store, or analyze Gmail content.
What We Do NOT Do:
Security & Your Control:
What Data Is Sent:
When you send an email via Gmail integration, only the following is transmitted: the recipient email address you specify, the email subject (job application title), the email body (your application message), and the attached PDF resume/cover letter you generated. No other Gmail data is accessed or transmitted.
Our application does not send Google user data to any AI or machine learning service.
Data Flow Architecture:
Our AI features operate exclusively on user-provided input. Any content generated by AI is created before and independently of any interaction with Google APIs. Google user data never flows to any AI service.
User Input → AI → Generated Content → Gmail API
Gmail API is used solely to send emails you create. No Google user data is ever monetized, shared, or processed for any purpose other than sending your requested emails.
In addition to providing our résumé optimization and career services, we may use your information to:
Important: We do not sell, share, or monetize any data obtained from Google APIs.

Gmail Token Security:
If you connect your Gmail account, your Gmail access tokens and refresh tokens are encrypted using AES-256-GCM encryption before being stored in our database. These encrypted tokens are used solely for sending emails on your behalf when you explicitly click "Send". We never decrypt or access these tokens for any other purpose, and they are never shared with third parties.
We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide our services and comply with legal obligations. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time.
