2.1 Subscription Plans

2.2 Auto-Renewal

Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle unless cancelled. You will be charged the then-current subscription fee using your selected payment method.

2.3 Payment Processing

Payments are processed securely through Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method for recurring subscription fees and any applicable taxes.

2.4 Price Changes

We may change subscription prices with 30 days' advance notice. Price changes will not affect your current billing cycle but will apply to subsequent renewals.

2.5 Gmail Integration & Email Sending (Optional Feature)

Gmail API Usage & Scope Justification:

We use the Gmail send scope solely to allow users to send documents they generate (resumes, cover letters) via their own Gmail account. Emails are sent only when the user explicitly clicks "Send". We do not read, store, or analyze Gmail content.

What We Access:

  • ✅ Gmail.send permission - ONLY for sending emails you create
  • ✅ Your email address - to display which account is connected

What We Do NOT Access:

  • ❌ Your Gmail inbox or any existing emails
  • ❌ Email reading, searching, or modification capabilities
  • ❌ Gmail settings or account configuration
  • ❌ Contact lists or other Gmail data

User Control & Security:

  • This feature is completely optional - you can use all other CareerGenius features without connecting Gmail
  • You must explicitly enable this feature in your account settings
  • Gmail access tokens are encrypted using AES-256-GCM encryption
  • You can disconnect Gmail at any time from our Email Settings page
  • You can revoke access via Google Account permissions: https://myaccount.google.com/permissions
  • Emails are sent directly from YOUR Gmail account to recipients YOU specify
  • We never send emails without your explicit action (clicking "Send")

Data Handling:

When you use the email sending feature, we transmit only: the recipient address you enter, the email subject (your job application title), the message body (your application text), and the PDF attachment (your generated resume/cover letter). We do not store copies of sent emails or Gmail content. We log only: timestamp, recipient address, and send status (success/failure) for troubleshooting purposes.

By connecting your Gmail account, you acknowledge that you understand these terms and grant CareerGenius permission to send emails on your behalf only when you explicitly request it.

3. Cancellation and Refund Policy

3.1 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting support@careergenius.org. Cancellation stops future billing but does not refund the current billing period.

3.2 Refund Policy

We offer a 3-day money-back guarantee for new subscribers. To request a refund within 3 days of your initial subscription, contact support. After 3 days, subscriptions are non-refundable, but you retain access until the end of your current billing period.

3.3 Usage Limits

We reserve the right to enforce reasonable usage limits to prevent abuse of our AI services. Heavy usage that impacts service performance may result in temporary rate limiting.
